Chateau D’Arcie is slowly building a reputation as one of the best estates in its area of the Appellation. The vines are tended with respect for the environment and the wine is a perfect example of this most expressive of Appellation at an affordable price. The estate vineyard is 31 acres of clay and sandy soils, planted to Merlot and Caberent Franc with healthy mature vines averaging 40 years of age.
They have a gravity flow winery which allows gentle handing of the fruit. Fermentation is in traditional temperture controlled cement tanks over 25-30 days. This wine from the outstanding 2016 vintage is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak barrels, 40% new for 12 months.
