Spread throughout the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, the estate vineyards of Château de Marsannay are located in some of the most prestigious villages of Burgundy, including Vougeot, Beaune, Pommard and Puligny-Montrachet. The winery sits in the center of Marsannay, a village whose winemaking traditions date back over a thousand years.
Château de Marsannay sources 9 plots with a total surface of about 17 acres for this Bourgogne Pinot Noir. The vines were planted in 1984 and are situated on clay and limestone soils.
After a complete de-stemming, the berries are placed in temperature-controlled stainless steel or wooden vats for a perfect cold maceration of Pinot Noir. Every day during fermentation, several punching of the cap and pumping over are performed for a complete and perfect extraction. At the end of vatting, the pomace is gently squeezed in the vertical press.
2017 was a superb vintage in Burgundy and this cuvée is a rich and generous Pinot Noir with black fruit aromas. Dense and full in the mouth, with a chewy tannins and long finish.
