About Chateau Le Borderon 2007 Haut-Medoc, Cru Bourgeois

Hear is a marvelous find, a Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux from the Haut-Medoc aged to perfection. The Chateau has 55 acres of vines in a prime location. Perhaps the most compelling thing about this wine is that Eric Boissenot was the oenologist. Considered by most to be the ultimate winemaking expert on the left bank of Bordeaux. His clients include Latour, Lafite-Rothschild, Margaux, Mouton-Rothschild, Palmer, Pichon Comtesse, Pichon Baron, Ducru-Beaucaillou, Léoville Barton, Brane Cantenac, Léoville Las Cases, Gruaud-Larose and many more.

This wine from the underrated 2007 vintage is a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc aged 12 months in oak barrels. The cool vintage brought bright acidity and fine structure for aging to this Haut-Medoc.  The additional bottle age has brought complex aromas and flavors of dried black cherry, wild mushrooms, new leather and cigar box cedar. Limited!
