Roc is commonly used as the name for villages built on stone foundations. The vineyard lies on a limestone plateaux at around 300 feet above sea level, hence its name "Bordeaux's high country". As a Bordeaux Superieur the wine is produced with rigorous quality criteria and made from grapes from selected vineyard parcels and older vines.
This wine from the outstanding 2016 vintage is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc the grapes undergo a cold soaking before fermentation for several days, to obtain more intense fruity notes and rich color. Alcoholic fermentation proceeds at controlled temperature with selected yeasts and 2 to 3 weeks on the skins to provide a round and supple wine. Ageing is in stainless-steel and concrete tanks.
This wine shows delightful aromas of fresh forest fruits, black cherry and cassis. It has a supple, velvety palate with a soft mouthfeel and a lingering finish.
