About Chianti Classico 2013 Querciabella

Located in the high altitude village of Greve in the Chianti Classico zone, Querciabella produces this ultra-modern style of Chianti. Grapes are sourced from their own biodynamically farmed vineyards and the wine is aged in French oak barrels for up to 14 months. The winery practices a proprietary farming regime known as cruelty-free biodynamics, which bars the use of animal derived products from all phases of grape growing and winemaking. This 100% vegan approach to biodynamic viticulture is the key to producing wines of exquisite quality and marked territoriality. Wine Spectator scored this 90 points saying "Rich cherry flavors are underscored by a firm structure in this intense, powerful red. Tightfisted tannins carry the finish for now, but there is ample sweet fruit and lively acidity for the future. Best from 2018 through 2028." and James Suckling scored it 93 saying "There's a freshness and brightness to this Chianti Classico with cherry and currant aromas and flavors. Full body, structured tannins and a chewy finish. Needs time to soften. Made from biodyamically grown grapes. The future of Chianti Classico. Better in 2017."
