Chianti Riserva DOCG 2013 Ducarosso

From the Eros Spinozzi Selections – an award-winning portfolio of Italian family wineries comes this Ducarosso Chianti Riserva DOCG. From vineyards with mature 25 year old vines planted at 900 feet altitude in the Tuscan hills with good South-Southeast exposure. To 85% Sangovese they blend 5% Canaiolo 5%, Merlot 5% and Cabernet Sauvignon for touch of international style. The wine aged 2 years in 80% Slavonia oak barrels, 10% French Allier barriques and 10% American Missouri barriques. It shows hints of vanilla and toast with slight balsamic notes of wood and spices. Dry and harmonious on the palate with good balance and a long finish.
