Chronology red is from a new line of wine by Jean-Charles Boisset. In the recent edition of Wine Advocate, Lisa Perrotti-Brown wrote about the The Secret Indulgence wine from Boisset "This is a new range of very smartly packaged and mostly keen-priced wines from Napa’s own flamboyant, gregarious and incredibly astute Burgundian-born proprietor, Jean-Charles Boisset. Linked to a recently purchased St. Helena estate and boldly renovated manor house, these wines are something more of an experience than straightforward grog. And if you’re lucky/brave enough, Jean-Charles and his team will take you to the next level of that journey, having dedicated a decadently decorated room of the newly remodeled house to each of these labels, within which guests can sample the wines and lose themselves. Confused? Not to worry. The bottles are stylish, and the wines are superbly crafted at each price level, focusing on unique and very clever blends that are, somewhat in contrast to the packaging, wonderfully understated, savory and mineral in style. Perhaps against your better judgment, you’re going to fall in love with these wines." Chronology is 28% Petite Sirah, 24% Grenache, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 5% Angelica, 3% Syrah, 2% Mourvedre aged 21 months partially in barrel and partially in stainless steel. The Wine Advocate scored this 91+ saying "A blend predominately of Petite Sirah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller parts of Malbec, Cabernet France, Merlot, Mission, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the 2015 Chronology Red reveals a medium to deep garnet-purple color and a nose of blackberry pie, blueberry preserves and mincemeat pie with hints of chocolate box, baking spices, dried mulberries and incense with a waft of dusty earth. Medium to full-bodied, it packs in the plushly textured, rich, spicy black fruits, finishing with great length."
