Francis Ford Coppola is never one to rest on his laurels. Seeking to create new and finer wines with every vintage he's created this Diamond Collection Pavilion Chardonnay. It's a blend of prime Chardonnay fruit, 81% from Santa Barbara and 19% from Sonoma County. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel it aged 9 months in French oak barrels.
This wine was just awarded 99 points, Best of Class in the California State Fair Wine Competition.
It's full-bodied with a creamy palate showing a delicate infusion of peach, pear, quince, and hints of grilled almonds and vanilla. Beautifully balanced by a bright acidity, tropical fruit is highlighted on a juicy and lingering finish.
