The Darioush estate comprises 120 acres in Southern Napa Valley spanning the Mount Veeder and Oak Knoll AVA’s. Their wines have always been formidable and now their estate vineyards have really hit their stride, producing fruit with splendid concentration, compelling freshness, and graceful complexity. This is their Signature Cab, sourced from estate vineyards, Sage Vineyard - Mount Veeder and hillside vineyards throughout Napa Valley. Fermentation included cold soaking for 4 days in traditional fermenters with gentle pump-overs for optimal color extraction and tannin management. The wine was aged 22 months in 85% new Chateau Traditional French oak barrels.
From the barrel, the Wine Advocate scored this 96-98 saying "Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon has a seriously plummy and spice box-inspired nose with underlying baked blackberries and kirsch notes plus hints of sandalwood, Bovril and potpourri. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers a riper, berry preserves expression of the valley, packed with exotic spices and floral undertones, finishing long and chewy."
