Domaine de la Galopière, located in Bligny-lès-Beaune, Burgundy, boasts five generations of vignerons. The family wine estate is currently managed by Gabriel Fournier and his son, Vincent Fournier. Their Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays come from vines that extend across Meursault, Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Pommard, and Chassagne-Montrachet.
This wine originates from the specific appellation of Chassagne-Montrachet, a long, wandering village in the Côte de Beaune. Most famous for its white wines, it is one of the few places in the Côte d'Or where both red and white wines are produced from Premier Cru vineyards. The Grands Crus are Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet (both shared with the neighboring village of Puligny), and Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet.
After undergoing complete malolactic fermentation, this wine aged 8 to 10 months in medium-toast French oak barrels.
The "Clos Saint Jean" is a nectar among the Premier Crus of Chassagne-Montrachet. Its complexity and the delicacy of its aromas arouse a delicacy in the mouth from its young age. With a beautiful bright and golden color, its aromas of exotic fruits give it an incomparable finesse and elegance. It has a very beautiful aromatic length.
