This wine grew out of Ego Bodega's own ecological agriculture built on the optimal use of natural resources and with respect for the environment and the conservation of future generations of the vineyard's fertility.
100% Monastrell grapes selected from their certified organically farmed vineyards*. The vines are on average 25 years old. Careful separation of the grapes harvested ecologically from those harvested conventionally is guaranteed not only by the facilities, but also by the vinification processes. The wine aged for 2 months in American oak barrels.
Decanter scored this 90 points saying "Complex aromas of raspberries, liquorice, chocolate, vanilla and stone fruit. Rich and broad with a lot of concentration, creamy palate."
The Wine Spectator called this a "Best Value' and scored it 90 points saying "Black cherry, plum and cocoa flavors mingle in the round, juicy texture
of this red. Smoky and earthy notes add a savory character. Lively
acidity and firm tannins give this focus. Drink now through 2026."
*A UCLA study published in the Journal of Wine Economics in 2016, of
wine reviews in the Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Wine Advocate
showed that "“eco-certified” wines scored significantly higher (an
average of 4.1 points higher) than other wines and that reviews used
more positive words about them."
