Magnum, 1.5L All of the grapes for this Reserve blend are grown in the well-drained soils and rugged terrain of Estancia's Keyes Canyon Ranch in Paso Robles, where vines yield small grape clusters with tiny berries packed full of flavor. This unique appellation is home to more extreme temperature swings than any other wine-growing region in California. During the day, the vines bask in the warm sunshine and at night they are soothed by cool marine breezes from the Pacific Ocean. The grapes are selected from the best lots in each vineyard block and the blend for this 2013 is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. Cabernet Sauvignon provides a foundation of dark fruits, structure, and density; Merlot rounds out the mid-palate with luscious fruit; and Malbec supports the backbone and intensifies the deep crimson hue of the wine. The wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 14 months, 40% new.
