Ferrari-Carano has always been a leading producer of world-class, nationally-acclaimed wines. Vintage after vintage, the wines exhibit a remarkable consistency of style and elegance.
To produce this Tre Terre Chard each lot is whole-cluster pressed, then cold settled in stainless steel tanks, and within 24 hours is moved directly to barrels for fermentation with native and cultured yeast. The wines complete 85 percent malolactic fermentation are sur lie aged and stirred weekly. The final blend was assembled in July and barreled down to neutral oak barrels until bottling in February for a total of 15 months of barrel aging. All vineyard lots were treated separately until blending.
2012 was an excellent vintage in Sonoma and this 2012 Tre Terre Chard in magnum is showing beautifully. Restaurant Wine Magazine gave it 5 Stars and said "The 2012 Tre Terre is exceptional: crisp and complex, it is full bodied, long on the palate, and very persistent on the finish, with aromas/flavors reminiscent of candied lemon, pineapple, hazelnut, peach, vanilla and spicy oak. Aged in French oak barrels." Limited!
