Superb Italian white!
  • 93 points!
  • "tightly knit white" "mouthwatering"
The great white wines of Northern Italy find their only rival in Campania where densely flavored, rich white wines like this Fiano di Avellino from Donnachiara. The grape variety dates back to ancient times and has been cultivated here for centuries. Donnachiara is a small family-owned winery that takes great care in bringing out the best in this native grape. Yields are reduced and the grapes slow macerate over a period of up to 60 days creating a wine of stunning proportion with richness on the palate.

Wine Spectator scored this 91 points saying "A tightly knit white, with a racy backbone of acidity and an aromatic overtone of fresh chive blossom accenting the mouthwatering range of apricot, Meyer lemon peel, pineapple and chalk flavors. Drink now through 2024."

James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "Lots of stone, white pepper and bitter lemon aromas and flavors. Medium body, oily palate and a flavorful finish. Drink now."
