After a cold soak for three days to improve color, flavor and tannin extraction, the grapes fermented for 22 days on the skins before basket pressing into barrels. The wine aged in 55% new French oak for 20 months and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
The Wine Advocate scored this 92 points saying "Very deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Pleinair Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon delivers pronounced baked berries, prunes and warm black currant cordial notes with touches of baking spices, olives and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied, it has concentrated baked black berry and savory layers with soft, velvety tannins and balanced freshness, finishing on a spicy note."
Decanter Magazine scored this 91 points saying "Very rich, oaky nose, backed by vibrant blackcurrant fruit. Fleshy and concentrated, leading to a long, refreshing finish. Shows presence and force."
