Lush Rose in a rosy bottle!
Here's one of the most compelling wines we've seen in a long time. I say "seen" because not only is what's inside the bottle luscious stuff, but the bottle itself is a striking design. The base has been shaped to look just like a rose in full bloom. It's really quite a sight. But back to the wine, this Languedoc Rose is exactly the kind of wine that this region is famous for.

Gerard Bertrand is the owner of nine estates across the South of France. As a wine-grower and owner of flagship estates, he has acquired a unique expertise in the terroirs of Languedoc-Roussillon. The warm, windy climate helps the grapes to ripen fully, while retaining all their fresh qualities thanks to the altitude and the influence of the sea which eases the scorching summer heat. Bertrand sources perfectly balanced, beautifully ripe grapes; a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah all destemmed and carefully pressed to extract the rose colored must.

Vinification is in stainless steel at cool temperatures. The nose offers aromas of strawberry, red currants, citrus peel and hints of jasmine. The wine is refreshing and ripe on the palate with hints strawberry, grapefruit, cherry and chervil. A wonderful aperitif but rich enough to enjoy with seafood, veal and poultry. Rose wines have taken the main stage. No longer just relegated to warm weather sipping, rose has become a "go to" wine for everything from fun, casual entertaining to pairing with first class dining. This rose by Bernard Bertrand comes from Southern France, the home of rose and it's no wonder that Wine Express customer couldn't get enough of it. It's exceptionally affordable while also being, expressive, nuanced, luscious and refreshing. A combination that's hard to beat.
