Groth Vineyards & Winery is a family-owned company with deep roots in the Oakville AVA, home to Napa Valley’s largest concentration of top Cabernet Sauvignon producers.

The 2020 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon captivates with layered aromatics of black raspberry, blueberry cream pie, and brioche underscored with black spice, anise, and wet stone flickerings. Each return to the glass reveals greater intricacy and depth. The dynamic palate opens with a wave of red currant and a lift of tart cherry, bright fruit interplaying with fine melted tannins, an underpinning of graphite and dusty earth ringing long on the finish.

Decanter gave this 93 points saying, " A very lovely and elegant expression of Oakville Cabernet from Groth, which was able to harvest the fruit that comprises this cuvee before the Glass Fire of 27 September. It's a compact, tight-knit, gorgeously balanced Cabernet that is reticent upon opening but with air reveals a wealth of crunchy red berry fruit, dusty minerals, cedarwood and capsicum. Medium-bodied with juicy red cherry, boysenberry, dark chocolate and sandalwood. Intricate fine-grained tannins and blood orange acidity make for a compelling and balanced red—best from 2024."

Wine Enthusiast scored this 92 points saying, "This well-structured, classically styled Cabernet offers black currant and cedar aromas, vivid black cherry and cranberry flavors and supportive, sandy tannins for a grippy texture. It is medium bodied, fresh and lively on the palate."

Wine Spectator scored this 92 points as well, saying, "Shows the up-front fruit of the vintage, with a good lush feel to the mix of plum and warmed cherry compote notes, lined with light menthol, sage and warm earth hints along the way. Polished (for the vintage) finish. Drink now through 2034."
