    About Hartford Court 2015 Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

    The 2015 Hartford Court Russian River Valley Pinot Noir comes from a collection of small vineyards located throughout the Russian River Valley AVA. These vineyards are a combination of their Estate properties such as Fog Dance, Hailey’s Block, MacLean’s Block and Arrendell as well as a handful of their neighbors’ vineyards located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. The sites express the essence of the Russian River Valley by showcasing the best of the sub-regions within the AVA. For this wine all the grapes were hand harvested with hand sorting of both clusters and berries at the winery. A pre-fermentation cold soak was followed by inoculation with indigenous yeast in small open top fermenters. The wine aged for 11 months in all French oak barrels (29% new) and underwent minimal or no fining and filtration. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 93 points saying "This is a barrel selection of estate and designated-vineyard sites across the larger appellation that impresses in its tangy, tart approach to earthiness. Juicy waves of cherry and cardamom ride a full-bodied, concentrated framework of exotic acidity and velvety texture."
