Iron Corral Cabernet Sauvignon is named for Hess' Iron Corral Vineyard and is their first new estate wine in 20 years. A beautiful balance of Mountain and Valley Floor Estates, this wine delivers beautiful, full fruit retention, enhanced by the complexity we have come to expect by integrating structured fruit from their mountain vineyards. Iron Corral Cabernet is complex yet accessible, designed for immediate enjoyment with the capability to age gracefully and be enjoyed for years to come.
The blend is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot aged in 40% new French oak for 18 months.
Jeb Dunnuck scored this 93 points saying "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Iron Corral Estate is rock-solid, with a rich, velvety, medium to full-bodied profile that's very much in the style of the vintage. Nicely balanced, with lot of redcurrants, spiced plum, cedary incense, and tobacco, it has outstanding balance as well as length on the palate. It's well worth seeking out."
Wine Enthusiast Magazine socred this 90 points saying "An affordable, approachable wine with small amounts of Malbec and Petit Verdot, this is a full-bodied, smoothly integrated expression of plush, lush texture and robust fruit. Boysenberry, black cherry and cinnamon glide easily across a soft, rich palate."
