Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from California vineyards in Napa, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Monterey, Mendocino and Lodi and aged in 25% new American oak.
The wine reflects what each appellation brings. Napa Valley lends complexity and Sonoma adds a touch of spice to the blend. Mendocino fruit gives the wine its dark color, rich, ripe berry flavors and tannins. Fruit from the cooler, windy Monterey appellation produces smaller, more concentrated fruit clusters and the warmer Paso Robles appellation offers fruit-forward notes and riper tannins. Rounding out the blend, Lodi fruit is characterized by rich flavor and soft texture.
Wine Spectator said about this wine "Loganberry, sassafras and anise notes mix together in this red, with a juicy finish that keeps everything focused. Not big, but shows nice character and balance. Drink now through 2022."
