About Kaiken 2019 Malbec, Indomito, Mendoza
Aurelio Montes, founder of the Chilean winery Bodega Montes, made several trips across the Andes until, in 2000 he rediscovered Mendoza as a generous land filled with superb vines and hardworking people. In 2001, he realized Mendoza was the perfect place to make Kaiken Wines, wines that embody everything a great wine ought to be.
Grapes for Indomito Malbec are sourced from vineyards in Altamira in the Uco valley at 4,000 above sea level. Grapes are harvested by hand and the manually selected. Pre-fermentation maceration cold soak lasts 4 days before a 7 day fermentation in concrete tanks. The grape then macerated for 20 days before aging in in concrete tanks.
Decanter Magazine scored this 96 points saying "Lifted perfumed nose of violets, lilies and roses over beautiful dark fruit and baking spice undertones. Really fresh and juicy, with lovely sweetness, floral elegance.
