Leviathan is a red blend from legendary winemaker Andy Erickson, the former winemaker for Screaming Eagle. With Leviathan, Andy has the freedom to pursue his passion of crafting one red blend wine sourced from the best regions in California. Every year he coaxes the very best from each of the chosen varietals, regions and vineyards to create one distinct and exceptional red blend. This is winemaking without restrictions.
An outstanding vintage, this 2018 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Franc sourced from Coombsville, Carneros, Red Hills, Moon Mountain, Fountaingrove, and the Sierra Foothills aged in 25% new French oak barrels.
James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "Blackberry and asphalt aromas with some violets and rose petals. Medium to full body. Some carbon to the dark fruit. Tasty and delicious. Chewy now, but we like it already. Drinkable now, but will improve with age."
