Lignum 2018 Red Blend, IGT Terre Siciliane

Lignum, the ancient Latin word for wood, is the inspiration behind this unexpected Italian blend of 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Shiraz from the island of Sicily. The name pays homage to this element of nature that accompanies the wine as it matures over time.

Beverage Testing Institute awarded this a Silver Medal "Highly Recommended" and said "Dusty ruby color. Aromas and flavors of plum jam, blueberry compote, rose petal, chocolate-cherry cookies, red licorice, and vanilla with a satiny, crisp, fruity light-to-medium body and a graceful, appealing, medium-length finish revealing notes of spice cake and charred oak with medium tannins and moderate oak flavor. A balanced and juicy red for the table."
