Matchbook 2017 Chardonnay, The Arsonist, Dunnigan Hills

Matchbook Wine Company is a family-owned winery tucked away in Northern California's gently rolling Dunnigan Hills. The Giguiere family embodies Dunnigan Hills winemaking. In 1981 they pioneered grape-growing in this region when they planted their very first vineyard. By 1993 they’d succeeded in making the Dunnigan Hills a nationally recognized American appellation.

 
Chardonnay does particularly well in this warm climate. This 2017 The Arsonist Chardonnay is a luscious blend of the best barrel lots of estate-grown fruit. 100% Barrel fermented in 33% new oak, a combination of French, European and American with frequent lees stirring.  


Tasting Panel Magazine scored this 91 points saying "Generous nose and golden color; lush and shimmering with creamy texture and rich, toasty favors. Ripe pear rides in on juicy, bright acidity. A really good value."

Wine Enthusiast Magazine made this an "Editors’ Choice" and scored this 93 points saying "This indulgent, full-bodied wine goes all out on richness. Aromas of malted milk, vanilla and cream lead to layered hazelnut, crème brûlée and poached pear flavors, while the viscous texture carries through for a lingering finish."
