Founded in 1990, McManis Family Vineyards is owned and managed by Ron and Jamie McManis, fourth generation winegrowers committed to sustainable farming. Located in the rich agricultural region of the northern California interior, the McManis family is credited with the 2001 successful petition for the 1300 acre River Junction AVA (American Vineyard Appellation), just west of the city of Ripon, at the cool, confluence of the Stanislaus and San Joaquin Rivers. The river basin, consistently 2-5 degrees cooler than the surrounding farmlands, combined with the sandy loam soils unique to the area, is ideally suited to growing premium quality Pinot Noir and grapes. For this wine they sourced from here as well as their estate vineyard in Jahant, Lodi's smallest AVA and other surrounding vineyards. After fermenting in stainless steel tanks the wine received 6 months of aging in French Oak barrels. This wine was Awarded Best of Class, 98 Points in the California State Fair Wine Competition!! This wine shows a lustrous hue with fresh cherry, strawberry and raspberry aroma with a hint of vanilla. Round and silky on the palate it has a pleasing mouthfilling quality and offers up strawberry, cherry and cola nuances that linger on the finish. An Incredible Value!!!
