Master Sommelier Ian Cauble whose fame arose from his being featured in the
documentaries "Somm" and "Into The Bottle" where his wine knowledge,
focus, energy and attention to detail were exceptional, is bringing that
praiseworthy intensity to producing fine wine. Teaming up with Vintner,
Trevor Sheehan, who spent nearly a decade learning from the master
winemakers of Burgundy and Bordeaux before returning to craft expressive
California wines, they've created Method. Sourcing outstanding
grapes from a single vineyard west of Rt. 29 in Oak Knoll, Napa Valley, this Cab has a small percentage of Petite Verdot blended in and shows rich flavors and a bold expression. The California Wine Advisors rated this "Outstanding" with a a 94 point score and Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 91 points saying "This wine is dark in color, with an enticing violet aroma, possibly from the 15% Petit Verdot in the mix. Spicy clove, black pepper and woody cedar form a full-bodied construct upon which a depth of tannin presides—a powerful statement that mellows in the glass. Additional notes of dried herb, cassis and currant unfold with time." It's a wine that will drink beautifully now and will continue to age gracefully over the next 4-8 years.
