About Modus 2013 Toscana IGT, Ruffino
For over 10 years Super Tuscan from Ruffino Modus, has scored 90+ points. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot from the vineyards of the Poggio Casciano Estate and from other selected vineyards of the Ruffino estates in Tuscany. Only the best grapes, selected during harvest, are used in the production of Modus. Fermentation took place over a period of about 4 weeks including an extended post-fermentation skin maceration. The wine was then aged in Troncais and Allier French oak barrels for 12 months. James Suckling scored this 2013 93 points saying "Firm and silky red with blueberry, walnut and black tea undertones. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon and merlot blend. Drink in 2018."
