Here is an elite Shiraz from Molldooker whose lush, densely flavored Australian wines are all cult classics. This wine is a perennial favorite and this latest release from the 2018 vintage does not disappoint. The grapes were grown on the Coppermine Road, Gateway, Long Gully Road and Mollydooker Home vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Joppich Vineyard in Langhorne Creek. Barrel fermented and matured in 100% American oak, using 54% new and 46% one year old barrels.
Wine Spectator scored this 94 points saying "A succulent, juicy red, with huckleberry, plump blackberry and blueberry preserves that show hints of salted dark chocolate, dried violet and cardamom. Beyond the generous fruit flavors is a structure of polished tannins, with hints of palo santo, dried herbs and tobacco, adding depth and intrigue on the finish. Drink now through 2046."
