An outstanding wine from the prolific Marco Bacci of Renieri. This one is a standout Riserva from Maremma on the coast of Tuscany. Morellino is the name for the local clone of Sangiovese that grows in this cool enclave of Tuscany. The Terre Di Talamo estate, Bacci's property in Maremma, is 75 acres of vineyards on steep hills, high above the Mediterranean Sea. The cooling breezes and the high altitude let the grapes ripen slowly and evenly. This wine is a blend of 85% Sangiovese, 10% Alicante and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 6 month in French oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle to attain the Riserva designation.
James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "Attractive Morellino with juicy plums and cherries. A hint of burnt citrus. Medium to full body. Flavorful finish. Loads of bright acidity. Drink now." an AMAZING value!!
