With grapes sourced from Yountville, Rutherford and St. Helena, Napa Bench Cabernet is primed for success. Especially when the winemakers are David Sayre, longtime winemaker at Rodney Strong and Tom Hinde who over saw all of the Jackson Family wines for many years. These two veterans have the expertise and know-how to put together a beautifully drinking Napa Cab that still a tremendous value.
They blended together 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. After a 5-7 day cold soak the grapes fermented over 30+ days for ideal extraction. The wine was then aged 16 months in 65% new French oak.
The finished wine was bottled unfiltered.
It shows ripe plums, currants and blackberries on the nose, with a hint of vanilla. The palate is rich and smooth with supple tannins and a lively fruit. A succulent, easy to love Napa Cab at an even easier to love price!
