About Paraduxx 2014 Proprietary Red, Napa Valley

Duckhorn's most innovative wine, Paraduxx was created as a way to showcase Napa Valley's exceptional grape growing with a blend that is pure California. A crowd-pleaser year after year, This one follows the traditional Paraduxx formula that we all know and love. Fusing the robust flavors of Zinfandel with Cabernet Sauvignon, the blend embraces the best of both varietals. A true Napa Valley blend, the fruit is sourced from all over Napa Valley, including four estate vineyards. Concentrating on the warmer AVAs of Napa, the grapes are sourced from as far North as Calistoga as far east as Pope and Chiles Valley and as far south as Yountville. A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Zinfandel and 5% Merlot aged 18 months in oak, 95% French Oak 5% American Oak, 50% new. James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "Extremely floral and beautiful with crushed-raspberry and rose-petal aromas. Medium body, super-integrated tannins and a fine texture. It's tight and focused. Drinkable now but will be better in two or three years."
