The Pecchenino wine estate dates back to the end of the 1700's and has always been a family-run operation, with the holding handed down from father to son for generations. The estate holds 60 acres of vines mostly in the Dogliani commune. Vines here are densely planted at over 2000 per acre leading to low yields and rich flavors.
This elegant Nebbiolo takes its name from the vineyard where it is produced, Vigna Botti, located in Dogliani, under the appellation Langhe DOC. But since 2017 was a so-so vintage for Barolo Pechenino decided to declassify their Barolo and add it to this Laghe bottling offered at a MUCH lower price than Barolo.
The Wine Spectator recognized the quality and scored this 92 points saying "Perfumed, offering floral, macerated berry, licorice and light leather and tobacco flavors. Elegant, balanced and lively, with a firm underlying structure. Drink now through 2024."
Here is your opportunity to enjoy Barolo quality wine at one third of the price!!
