About Pommery 2004 Cuvee Louise Brut Nature, Champagne

Created as a tribute to Louise Pommery, Cuvée Louise is an absolutely pure wine which quintessentially conveys the wine-making expertise of the Pommery champagne house. Louise originates in the vineyards of Avize, Cramant and Ay, three “Grands Cru” areas that are jewels in the crown of the Champagne region.

Since Cuvee Louise is characterized by low dosage, this Cuvée Louise 2004 is designated “Brut Nature” to create an alternative to the traditional cuvée. Extended lees aging before disgorgement give this cuvee exceptional complexity.

James Suckling scored this 97 points saying "A creamy and refined 2004 with a very reserved and tight palate of ultra fine tannins that lend the wine beautiful creaminess and finesse. Subtly floral, offering lightly cooked apples and lemons. Flavorful, yet always hiding behind the fine bubbles. Drink now."

Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 95 points saying "Sourced entirely from grand cru vineyards and aged for 10 years before disgorgement, this wine is beautifully mature. Richness comes from the ripe fruit rather than the dosage, balanced by tangy acidity and a toasty note. It is a finely poised and impressive wine that is ready to drink."

Wine Spectator scored this 93 points saying "This firm version is well-meshed and balanced, offering flavors of poached apricot, chalky mineral and pastry dough. Lively, with a lacy mousse and a lightly spiced, crisp finish. Drink now through 2024. 833 cases made, 76 cases imported."
