Roth Estate is a family-owned winery, beginning in 2001, Roth committed to producing classic Bordeaux varietals in Alexander Valley. Nestled in the southern reaches of Alexander Valley, Roth's home vineyard is comprised of gentle rolling hills. The low-vigor, volcanic-based soil shapes Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines of intensity, depth and concentration. Heritage red blend is a tribute wine that commemorates the many bold journeys that shaped our great country. The grapes for this 2016 Roth Heritage were sourced from regions throughout the south-eastern parts of Sonoma County. It's a blend of 25% Syrah, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Malbec, 8% Zinfandel, 8% Petit Verdot, 15% Merlot and 10% Petite Sirah aged in French and American oak for 17 months, 60% new. It brings deep ruby in color and offers luscious aromas of boysenberry, cocoa dust and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, bold tannins are balanced by decadent flavors of black-berry, blueberry and white chocolate with hints of vanilla and toasted oak. This 2016 was awarded a Double Gold Medal in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition!
