Situated at the main Rutherford crossroads, between Beaulieu Vineyards and Caymus Winery, Round Pond has been growing premium winegrapes since the early 1980s.Cultivated with meticulous care, their grapes have been sold to several of the most preeminent wineries in the region. Using a small selection of extraordinary grapes from their vineyard’s 362 planted acres, Round Pond has established an acclaimed estate wine program focusing on world-class Cabernet Sauvignon produced in extremely limited quantities.

This wine from the outstanding 2015 vintage is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and just 2% Petit Verdot. The wine aged 18 months in 60% new tight grain French oak barrels. James Suckling scored this 90 points and said "Blackberry compote, ivy and plum liqueur as well as some crème de cassis are prominent on the nose. Full-bodied with round tannins, lots of ripe fruit and a fruit-forward finish. Drink in 2021."

and Antonio Galloni scored it 92 points saying "Round Pond's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford is attractive, even if it is at times a bit monolithic. The dark cherry, plum, smoke, menthol and tobacco flavors speak with baritone intensity. Powerful and resonant in the glass, the 2015 has more than enough depth and persistence to drink well for a number of years. Its biggest competition, quite frankly, comes from some of the other wines in the range."
