San Polo is situated in Podernovi, on the southern slope of Montalcino. The valley is called Sant’ Antimo very close to Mount Amiata. San Polo’s modern and innovative wine-making is cutting-edge technology and the year 2007 marked the beginning of a new era for San Polo. An eco-friendly approach was developed, leading to a steadfast commitment to sustainability, which is now the hallmark of the Estate.

This 2018 Rosso di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese from a 7.4 acre vineyard at 1476 feet above sea level with southern exposure. Grapes were hand picked and carefully sorted. fermentation was in concrete tanks and aging was in large oak casks with a light toast.

The Wine Advocate scored this 90+ saying "The 2018 Rosso di Montalcino is a chiseled and fruit-driven wine that awakens and satisfies the palate. Although delicate and slender, the bouquet reveals fresh strawberry and blueberry aromas with light spice and potting soil. There is a fine touch of tannic structure that serves to hold the wine tightly together."
