A superb vintage for Port, the 2016's are disappearing fast. This outstanding selection from the esteemed house of Sandeman has received wide acclaim including a Gold Medal in international competition. Sourcing from top vineyards in the Douro Valley this 2011 is a blend of 43% Touriga Franca, 29% Touriga Nacional, 20% Tinta Roriz and 8% Tinta Barroca.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine named this a Cellar Selection and scored it 99 points saying "This is a ripe and generous wine, with tannins that are well integrated into the powerful black-fruit core. It is rich in a black plum flavor that's cut by fine acidity. Complex, balanced and full of long-term potential, drink this impressive wine from 2029."
Wine Spectator scored this 96 points saying "Densely packed, with baker’s chocolate up front, followed by muscular black currant, fig and blackberry paste flavors. Shows brambly grip, with flashes of apple wood and Turkish coffee. Best from 2035 through 2055."
