Seaglass 2017 Rose, Monterey County

From Seaglass, producers of one of the best value Pinot Noirs in the market and a Wine Express customer favorite, comes this refreshing, lively rose. Grapes are sourced from northern Monterey where cool breezes and fog blowing in from the Pacific Ocean, allow the grapes to ripen slowly and evenly as they develop the delicate fragrances, silky structure, bright acidity and complex flavors that make Pinot Noir so desirable. Crafted in a minimalist style to show off the wine's bright, fresh flavors, pretty aromas and lovely pale pink color, winemakers use a gentle touch from start to finish. The wine is composed entirely of free run juice with no pressed grapes at all, resulting in a softer-styled, lighter-bodied wine. To preserve the wine's delicate fragrance and crisp acidity, winemakers forego malolactic fermentation. Instead, the wine is cold fermented in stainless steel to capture the purest expression of fruit, 45% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 15% Pinot Noir. With an irresistible pale pink color in the glass, this wine offers fragrances of wild strawberries and dried rose petals. On the palate it's bright and juicy with cherry and raspberry flavors tinged with citrus and anise and finishing dry and clean. Ideal to match with many kinds of food or just to enjoy on a sunny afternoon or a warm balmy evening. This scored 91 points in the California State Fair Wine Competition and WIne Enthusiast Magazine gave it a "Best Buy" and scored it 90 points saying "Very pale pink in the glass, this offers a bright, vivacious nose full of bubblegum sticks and watermelon water. The palate is grippy in texture and lively in acidity, showing delicious but light strawberry flavors."
