Segehsio's Rockpile Zin is not to be missed.
Founded in the late 1800's Seghesio Vineyards is all about producing great Zinfandel. Sourcing from their own estate vineyards as well as from the most exception Zinfandel vineyards throughout Sonoma their wines their wines are the showcase for Sonoma County as the world’s premier location for Zinfandel.

This wine is sourced from two vineyards in the very exclusive Rockpile AVA; Westphall Ranch and Mauritson Campground Vineyard. Rockpile has only 160 acres of vines and is contiguous to Dry Creek Valley. It's defined by ridgetops with elevations ranging from 800 to 2,100 feet above sea level. The appellation’s size is limited by its rugged terrain. Well-drained hillsides with shallow, rocky topsoil provide for less vigorous vines, smaller berries and intensely flavored Zinfandel. 100% Zinfandel, this wine aged 14 months in 15% new French oak, 85% neutral French and American oak.

Wine Spectator just scored this 94 points saying "A racy style, buoyed by a polished structure, offering expressive cherry, bay leaf and smoky cracked pepper flavors that take on richness toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2027."
