Silk & Spice is the Portuguese red for every day that really delivers. The grapes selected for Silk & Spice come from the regions Dão, Bairrada, and Lisboa, and are vinified separately. After total destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes were fermented at a controlled temperature with short maceration to retain freshness. The wine then aged for 6 months in American oak barrels. Innumerable tastings and analyses were carried out to determine the final blend of 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Alicante Bouschet and 30% Baga, creating a wine with delightfully forward fruit and very soft tannins.
Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored this 91 points saying "This powerful, rich wine is succulently packed with black fruits. With its balance already assured between its spicy edge and silky tannins, the wine is ready to drink now."
