A new release from the Taken Wine Company, the Taken Napa Valley Chardonnay. After being picked in the early morning hours, grapes were brought into the winery for processing. After undergoing 60% native yeast fermentation (82% fermented in French oak barrels), 50% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation, rounding out the palate and adding a delicious, creamy note. The wine was then aged in French and American oak barrels (30% new) for 9 months.
James Suckling scored this 91 points saying "Aromas of cooked apple, apricot, lemon curd and toasted almonds. It’s full-bodied, vivid and concentrated with a dense texture, balanced by bright acidity.”
