Taken Wine Co. Complicated 2016 Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast

Taken Wine Company was founded in 2009 when next generation winemaker, Carlo Trinchero, realized his dream to start his own wine label. Growing up in the winegrowing town of St. Helena in the Napa Valley, wine is in his DNA. The wines are made with the simple philosophy: to craft great wines to share with friends.

They sourced grapes for this wine from prime vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA, known for its cool climate and high rainfall relative to other parts of Sonoma County. Its a microclimate uniquley suited to Pinot Noir. 100% Pinot NOIR aged aged in French oak barrels.  

Wine Enthusiast Magazine made this an "Editors' Choice" and said "“This shows dense flavors of blackberry and cherry. Dark and brooding, it unfurls waves of soft, seamless fruit across the silky palate, finishing in an earthy twist of mushroom and oak.” 

Decanter Magazine scored this 92 points saying "An utterly delightful cranberry scented Pinot Noir complemented by notes of strawberry, raspberry and a touch of cherry, Great structure and real ageing potential."
