Tenuta Di Renieri 2018 Chianti Classico, Gran Selezione

Tenuta di Renieri is located in the southernmost part of the Chianti Classico zone, in the town of Castelnuovo Berardegna. Here the warmer temperatures produce bigger, riper wines than in the more northern villages. Part of the Bacci group of Tuscan wineries, Marco Bacci oversees the winemaking, using modern techniques while expressing the local terroir. 2018 was an outstanding vintage and an ideal one to produce this this Gran Selezione. 100% Sangiovese from Bacci's hillside vineyards that produce very low yields. It is aged 30 months in French Allier oak, 50% new barrels. This vintage the wine has been certified organic.

James Suckling scored this 95 points saying "A firm, silky red with cherry, blackberry and chocolate. Hints of coffee and toffee, too. Medium body with round, creamy tannins and a flavorful finish. Savory and delicious with pure fruit. Drink or hold."
