Tenuta Polvaro 2018 Pinot Grigio, Venezia DOC

Tenuta Polvaro in the Venzia DOC is an estate that dates back to the 1600's. The De Zan family, makers of the Candoni wines, have restored it to modern grandeur and have a state-of-the-art winemaking facility here. The property is located just northeast of Venice, close enough to the Adriatic to have a very balanced,warm microclimate. Here the Pinot Grigio grapes grown on their estate ripen fully and take on a richness not often seen in Italian Pinot Grigio. Modern vinification allows the wine to fully express the delightful character if this compelling grape variety. This wine just received a Gold Medal in the 2019 Primaggiore Italian National Wine Competition.

Aromas of light citrus and delicate flowers are complemented by hints of green apples and Barlett pears, ending with a delightfully long finish.
