Tignanello
is the first and most consistent of the great Super Tuscans. Of course
Antinori is the world famous producer of Tuscan wines, their history
going back literally centuries and their vineyard holding unrivaled. The
Tignanello Estate is located between the Greve and Pesa river valleys
in the heart of the Chianti Classico appellation. In these 320 acres of
vineyards, the Antinori family, more than anywhere else, has expressed
its principles and working philosophy: reconcile tradition and modernity
with wines that are strictly and authentically tied to their
territories of origin. Solaia and Tignanello, the two iconic wines of
the estate, have been defined by the international press as "among the
most influential wines in the viticultural history of Italy" and are a
constant symbol of the passion that drives the Antinori family's
continual quest for greatness. The 2013 vintage was selected in the top
10 of Wine Spectator's Top 100 wines and this 2015 may be even better. James Suckling scored it 98 points saying "Fantastic aromas of dark berries, sandalwood and Spanish cedar that are
ever so deep. Full body, an incredible spin of polished tannins and
bright acidity. Incredible depth. Like looking over the edge of a
skyscraper. Powerful and structured. A great Tignanello. A little more
sangiovese than usual. Best since the legendary 1997?" Limited.
