Antinori established Tormaresca in the Puglia region of southern Italy in 1998 and from the estate's two vineyards, Bocca di Lupo and Masseria Maime, they've been producing outstanding wines for more than a decade. They use grapes indigenous to Southern Italy, like this Aglianico as well as blending international varietals.
The Antinori team led by Renzo Cotarella, has proven to be very adept at preserving ancient traditions while also applying the most modern winemaking techniques. All of the grapes are certified organic. This wine is a unique blend of 65% Aglianico, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. The wine was aged 10 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels followed by 9 months of bottle age.
Wine Spectator scored this 90 points saying "Bright blackberry and mulberry fruit shows delicate herb, bergamot and graphite accents in this well-cut, medium-bodied red. Fresh and focused, with taut tannins firming the lasting finish. Drink now through 2025."
