About Tormaresca 2017 Trentangeli, Castel Del Monte Rosso, Antinori
Antinori established Tormaresca in the Puglia region of southern Italy in 1998 and from the estate's two vineyards, Bocca di Lupo and Masseria Maime, they've been producing outstanding wines for more than a decade. They use grapes indigenous to Southern Italy, like this Aglianico as well as blending international varietals.
The Antinori team led by Renzo Cotarella, has proven to be very adept at preserving ancient traditions while also applying the most modern winemaking techniques. All of the grapes are certified organic. This wine is a unique blend of 65% Aglianico, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Syrah. The wine was aged 10 months in French and Hungarian oak barrels followed by 9 months of bottle age.
Wine Spectator scored this 90 points saying "An elegant red, lightly mouthwatering and well-knit, with supple tannins and flavors of black cherry coulis, star anise, graphite and hot stone rippling across the palate through to the lightly chewy finish. Aglianico, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Drink now through 2026."
