BRV brings together two of the family’s estate vineyards, Haystack, Atlas Peak and Cloud’s Nest, Mt. Veeder, from Napa Valley’s most esteemed mountain appellations. The pinnacle of the portfolio, this sustainably sourced Cabernet Sauvignon is elevated in every way and reflects the intensity of its mountain origins. Aged 18 months, 100% French oak (75% new). Robert Parker scored this 93 points saying "Revealing more tannin and structure than its siblings, the deep ruby/purple-tinged 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Mountain Cabernet (Not Yet Named) offers up abundant notes of licorice, blackcurrants and blue fruits, but structure kicks in in the mouth. This cuvée is meant for aging, and that probably reflects the fact that this will be the last of these wines to be released, in early 2016. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2030+." and James Suckling scored this 93 points saying "Lots of spicy, rich fruit to this red with a blackberry, boysenberry flavor plus hints of tar and licorice. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Drink or hold."
