Made using 50 to 60 different crus, the cuvee is based on Brut Yellow Label's traditional blend: 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier, and 28 to 33% Chardonnay. The blend draws on a particularly high percentage of reserve wines originating from several harvests (usually 5 or 6): from 25 to 35%, sometimes as much as 40% to ensure the consistency of the House style. The reserve wines, some of which are 9 years old, are kept separately depending on the origin of the crus and the years in which the wines were produced. This blend is completed with 12% of red wine using red grapes specially raised and selected to give a marvelous balance to this rose.
Wine & Spirits Magazine scored this 93 points saying "This is the same base wine as Yellow Label, with the addition of 12 percent red wine to boost the color and the wine’s depth of wild raspberry flavor. It’s Burgundian-rich, a pinot noir as a serious Champagne with complexity, muscular structure and vinous length of spicy fruit."
James Suckling scored this 92 points saying "Very pinot noir, thanks to all the red-berry and spice aromas, with quite a bold flavor profile that also pushes a long way in the red-wine direction, without losing the elegance of good Champagne. It’s the delicate touch of the tannins that makes this balancing act work. Very well-integrated acidity. Drink now."
Wine Spectator scored this 91 points saying "A harmonious rose, with crunchy acidity well-meshed to the lacy mousse and minerally, smoke- and stone-laced underpinning, forming a fine frame for the flavors of ripe white cherry and pink grapefruit zest, accented by a touch of whole-grain toast."
