Known for his band and his music, Zac Brown is a creative spirit who has a passion for bringing music, food, and people together. The next logical step for him was to make wine. For this, his Uncaged series he teamed up with the resources of Delicato Family Wines and Napa Valley Winemaker John Killebrew, who grew up in California, developed a love for nature, gardening, cooking, and music at an early age. As a winemaker, John is able to stay immersed in nature. Working in partnership with Zac and accessing the Delicato's superb quality grapes he's able to create wines with true character and style that offer a lot for a little. This Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from prime vineyards. The 2015 vintage produced a crop of exceptional quality. The fruit was harvested during the cool early morning hours to ensure that the concentrated fruit flavors were captured at the peak of ripeness. Grapes were de-stemmed, moved into stainless steel tanks and slowly warmed to fermentation temperatures. Following the completion of primary and malolactic fermentation, the wine was drained and gently pressed onto a selection of French and American oak. The final blend for this boldly flavored wine was thoughtfully crafted by Zac and John after multiple hands-on tastings and blending sessions featuring a selection of the best lots of the vintage. Tasting Panel Magazine scored it 94 points saying "With grapes hailing from Lodi, Mendocino, San Bernabe and the Alexander Valley that are aged in Fench and American oak, the aromas are an alluring array of brown-sugared plums, nutmeg and cocoa beans. Balanced acidity and a perfume that lingers on the nose and palate create an impressive mouthfeel of tart, spice and dark cherry sweetness. A hint of cinnamon plays well with mocha coffee notes, creating an expansive to dramatic finish. Bravo!"
